OK, just a short note today as we have been traveling all day. Our friends' arrived safety and 13 minutes early last night. We surprised them at the Greenville, SC airport. We had already checked into the local Super 8 Motel, dropped off the dog and the luggage and made a beeline for the airport. When we arrived, we realized we were in fact 30 minutes early!
Below is A coming off the escalator from the plane and seeing me jumping up and down!
As hoped, they were totally surprised. I grabbed Je and just started crying and telling her how happy I was she was home. I had already squeezed the stuffing out of A. I had to remember to take a second and hug Ja too!
A was carrying, Theodore, the bear. Theo is a stuffed animal she found at my house when they visited 2 1/2 years ago. She has trekked that bear all over the world. It has been washed and dried so much his fur is not even fluffy anymore. His tail has had to be sewn back on. But he has remained a faithful friend.
We collected the baggage. The people were already there with a loaner car for them. The boys piled into that and the girls piled into our car and we headed to the motel. After unloading everything we gave quick hugs and said goodnight. Our breakfast this morning was good old American waffle house waffles. A and I had one with chocolate chips. Je had one with blueberries and Ja ordered one of everything off the menu! We again packed the car and headed up the road to Amherst, VA.
We have arrived home and unpacked again. Ja is napping on the sofa, A is playing with a tea set found in the attic, Steve is chillin' in the recliner drinking fake tea, and I am blogging. They are exhausted and hoping to stay awake until 8pm.
I am so happy to have them home. It will be a quick week together, but at least it will be together. The Lord has brought them safety back to us and we are grateful. He has used them in a mighty way for this season. Now they begin a new journey with him!
In His service,
Mally
